We are excited to announce that our Climate Justice Youth Leadership Initiative (CJYLI) will be held again this summer, and we invite students to apply for our internship. The application deadline is May 17th, 2024, and the internship is open to any 8th-12th grade student of color. To apply, students must submit a two-minute video or a letter of interest introducing themselves and explaining why they want to become Climate Justice Warriors to allahji@uprose.org. Whether students have prior experience in climate justice or not, we encourage all those who aspire to lead their generation to apply.
Interns in this summer’s CJYLI will undergo three main processes. First, they will receive training on UPROSE’s work, the essence of climate justice, and how to effect change as students of color. Next, based on their interests and skills, interns will work on creative projects to educate others about climate injustice. Finally, interns will become Climate Justice Warriors, gaining experience in organizing events, outreach, climate research, and more, to unite in the fight for climate justice.
